This one doesn’t require much movement…
Welcome to the Korean Sauna AKA 찜질방 (Jjim Jil Bang)
Address: 2332 Barranca Pkwy., Irvine, CA 92606
Hours: 7 days a week 8:00 am-12:00 am
Upon arrival you will pay the entrance fee of $25 (if only paying for one visit and to the coed areas as well as the sauna only. My experience is the jjim jil bang area (coed common area) mostly so that is what I will be describing below. Once you have paid, find the locker that has the same number that corresponds to the bracelet key given to you. There you can store your personal belongings and change into the uniform given at the front desk. Make sure you keep your own locker key with you at all times. I always go to the showering area and grab two towels (they are small, hand towels). Then I enter the coed room. You can also reserve treatments like facials and body scrubs. I’ve never gotten any of those services done so I have no experience to provide feedback on.
I personally do not like heat. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to be cold but sitting in hit makes me feel like I’m suffocating. However, there is something pretty relieving of sweating so I can build my tolerances to the heated rooms. Luckily there is the ice room that you can take breaks in between the heated rooms.
Some people literally nap in these rooms. It is suggested that an individual stay in the rooms 10-15 minutes. The common area is still someone heated and you can lounge around and watch tv when you want to take a break. There is also free wifi. I’ve seen people bring their laptops and I’ve brought books to read. You could literally stay there A.L.L. D.A.Y. Taking phones into the heated rooms: probably safe cause it is dry heat but when I take it in for too long, I don’t like it. My phone gets hot, I get paranoid and put my phone in the locker where the temperature is cool.
**Extra pamper tip: While you relax and enjoy the rooms, apply one of these collagen masks (yes while in the room). You won’t be the only one!

This sauna is kid friendly and has a kid room, where they can play and watch tv. They are also allowed in the heated rooms.
There is a cafeteria where you can have a pretty full big meal. It is very similar to mall food but the prices are pretty high. The locker key number that is labeled and with you is like your account. When you order food, they’ll ask what your number is and you show them. Later when you leave you pay your balance. That way you don’t deal with carrying your wallet around with you in the sauna. Kinda nice. There is a cafe with coffee, shaved ice, pastries. All kinds of goodies.
They also don’t allow outside food in. I’m a bit of an antsy person so I try to eat first so I can get a little lazy and drowsy afterwards in the rooms. Each Korean spa or Jjim Jil Bang is slightly different but mostly the same concept. The rooms might have different themes or uses but you’ll most likely see a salt room and ice room in each Korean sauna. Once you enter these rooms, you literally either sit or lay down. Most people lay down. I sometime practice light yoga.
